Overview
Wagwago began as a trading company in 2015. Two years later it restructured into a private limited company, and the shape of the group changed with it. Instead of chasing opportunities across unrelated markets, each new company was built to solve a problem the existing ones already had.
That is still how it grows. A transformer plant needed enclosures, so Current Engineering makes steel. The steel needs moving, so Wanza Express and Trucks Load handle freight. Everything needs systems, so Niyat runs the technology. All of it needs people who already know the work, so Geez trains them.
The result reads less like a portfolio and more like a supply chain that happens to sit under one owner.
What connects the businesses is not simply common ownership, but a shared operating logic. Group companies are expected to solve real delivery constraints for one another, reuse capability where it makes sense, and expand only where a new operation strengthens the wider system.

Wagwago separates group-level oversight from operating-company accountability. Strategic direction, capital discipline, risk expectations, safety and quality standards are set at group level, while each company remains responsible for its own delivery, financial performance and compliance.
This structure keeps operating decisions close to each business while maintaining consistent expectations for governance, reporting, investment discipline and cross-group coordination.

Cable manufacturing facility contracted in Wukro
A new cable manufacturing project extends the group's electrical manufacturing chain.
Furniture and Plastic factories enter incubation
Two manufacturing ventures enter development as the group broadens local production capability.

Innovation and partnerships
Geez Education and Training delivers international certification with GAFM and California State University, Dominguez Hills. Wagwago Electric supplies transformers and protection equipment to Ethiopian Electric Power, Ethiopian Electric Utility, ethio telecom and Safaricom. The group has also worked with UNDP, Mastercard Foundation, Reach for Change and PAES on capability-building and development initiatives.
The emphasis is practical: bring in specialist knowledge where it accelerates local capability, build relationships that support infrastructure delivery, and use partnerships to strengthen the skills, systems and operating capacity of the group over time.
